The firm's jury verdicts include the largest punitive damage award in the state of Texas in 1994 ($50,000,000.00), the largest verdict in a civil case in the state of Texas in 1995 ($143,400,000.00), the largest mental anguish award in a defamation case in Texas history in 1997 ($8,000,000.00), the largest escalator product liability verdict in the United States in 1998 ($17,000,000.00), the largest personal injury verdict in Angelina County history in 1999 ($16,734,092.00), and the largest civil verdicts in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Texas (Lufkin Division) in 1999 ($8,000,000.00) and in 2002 ($5,400,000.00), a securities case arbitration in excess of $27,000,000.00 in 2003, and the largest verdict in Ector County history in 2004 ($4,500,000.00).
